Robinsons Family Vineyards: Winery a 4 Star Rating.

5 Stars is Hallidays highest rating for a winery or a wine in his compendium which reviewed over 200 wines. Two of our wines, the 2000 Shiraz and the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon, each received 4.5 stars.

Halliday, in his 2006 Wine Atlas of Australia, singles out:

‘The Granite Belt as the best region in Queensland pronouncing it capable of producing wines of international standard.’

He says, “I believe it’s a premium winemaking region.”

‘Our own research into comparative wine regions have shown that in Australia the Granite Belt’s Average temperature for the Months of Jan, Feb and March is similar to that of the Margaret River Region in Western Australia but better still, the Granite Bel’s average temperature for those months is closer to the July, Aug, Sept summer temperatures of Bordeaux in the northern hemisphere.’ John Robinson states.

‘Our winemaking experience since we established Robinsons in 1969 has been that the Ballandean climate of the Granite Belt is ideal for the production of Top Quality red and white wines.’
